Erectile Dysfunction/Low Testosterone

Low testosterone

As men age, the amount of testosterone gradually declines. Testosterone hormones are an important component of male sexual health and help maintain muscle bulk and bone strength. Testosterone replacement is safe and can be easily achieved by utilizing implants, injections, gels or tablets. Talk to our specialists about diagnosing and treating low testosterone or problems such as premature ejaculation.

Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction (ED), low testosterone, is a treatable condition. ED is the inability of a man to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. Some men experience chronic, complete ED. Others experience partial or brief erections. Incidence increases with age. According to the National Institutes of Health, an estimated 15 to 30 million men in the United States experience chronic ED. Transient ED and inadequate erection affect up to 50% of men between 40 and 70 years of age. Other diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, alcoholism and atherosclerosis account for as many as 70% of chronic ED cases and psychological factors such as stress, anxiety or depression may account for 10% to 20% of cases. Smokers have a higher likelihood of ED.

The latest treatment options

Oral medications used to treat erectile dysfunction include Viagra®, Levitra® and Cialis®. Self-injection using special medication can produce an erection that lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Other options are vacuum devices, surgical implants and penile prosthesis.
